WHATS ON AT THE CLIMBING WALL?
Not a Climber but would like to start? We have a range of supervised and instructed climbing sessions for ages 3 to 103!
MONKEY MADNESS (3-5 YEARS)
Instructor led sessions that focus on fun. Developing hand-eye coordination, motor skills and balance through stimulating activities both on and off the wall.

CHEEKY CHIMPS (8-12 YEARS)
Climbing sessions where you will learn how to develop movement skills as well as learning how to safeguard yourself and others.

HANGOUT CLUB (13-18 YEARS)
Our teen social climbing club that focuses on fun just as much as climbing. Our instructors encourage participation and provide guidance to help achieve potential.
90 minutes non-member: £10.00 membership: £8.95
GET CLIMBING (8+ THROUGH TO ADULTS)
Supervised climbing sessions for all ages 8+. A great opportunity to practice on the wall for both individuals and families.

INTRODUCTION TO CLIMBING COURSE (16+ YEARS)
A three week course of 1.5hr sessions, We will teach you how to kit up and tie in (keep yourself safe), how to belay (keep someone else safe) and some basic movement techniques. The course also includes the Competency Test, so after completing the course you will be able to sign in guests and attend our wall unsupervised during our open hours. Price: £37.50
OPEN CLIMBING
Who? Competent climbers (see below for info)
When? Open climbing is available during the climbing wall's opening hours. Check the app or booking portal for up to date times.
How much? £7.85 per person or FREE for members.
Use the wall unsupervised and bring guests who haven’t passed a competency test (max. 2 guests per competent climber).
Kit is included with all supervised and instructed climbing. During open climbing, the following kit hire charges apply:
Harness - £2.80
Belay - £2.20
Helmet - £1.00
Climbers are welcome to bring their own kit if they prefer.
ALREADY KNOW HOW TO CLIMB?
Welcome to the climbing wall in Haverfordwest Leisure Centre! Before we let you climb unsupervised, we need to check that you are able to use the wall safely.
COMPETENCY TEST
Who? Anyone 14 years or older with enough experience climbing that they can climb safely on their own.
When? Please give our reception team a call to find out when the next available Competency tests are available.
How much? £12.15 (£11.05 for concessions)
This competency test is a quick assessment of your belaying and knot-tying skills so that we can be confident in allowing you to use the centre without further input from an instructor. It includes all kit hire. Having proved your skills, you will then be allowed to sign in up to 2 people aged 5 years and over, as guests.
After this, you will be able to use the climbing wall unsupervised, please check our booking portal or app for up to date wall opening times.
ARE YOU A CLIMBING INSTRUCTOR?
Welcome to the climbing wall in Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, we have a couple of hoops for you to jump through before you can bring groups to the climbing wall. You will first need to be a registered user of Pembrokeshire Leisure (sign up in the top right corner of this website). Then email a copy of your climbing qualification (CWA/CWLA/SPA/MIA/MIC/Guide), first aid certificate, insurance and this form to [javascript protected email address]. Please allow for administration time – you will typically receive an email confirmation within 0-2 working days.
After this, you can sign in your group! Up to 9 people or up to 12 with an assistant who must be minimum CWA trained. Booking in advance is advised to ensure availability.
Instructed Group entry costs £6.50 per person (including instructors).
