Active Disability Sessions

                                        

Active Disability - Closed swimming sessions 

The sessions are for people with disabilities along with carers/family members, they are closed sessions meaning people can only attend if they are eligible. This enables our customers to be able to swim in their way without feeling pressure or judgment from other swimmers.

Active Disability - Easy Line Gym 

There is an open session available for anyone with a disability along with carer/family members. These sessions are instructor lead, and use easy line gym equipment, with the principles of biomechanics and ergonomics, Easy Line is perfectly designed for comfort and ease of use with maximum style. The equipment uses hydraulic pistons making it easier and more comfortable to use for people with additional needs.

Active Disability - Indoor Boccia and Bowls 

This is an open session for anyone with disabilities to come with their carer/family members. The session is run by an instructor at the indoor bowling green within the leisure centre.Boccia is a Paralympic sport introduced in 1984. Athletes throw, kick or use a ramp to propel a ball onto the court with the aim of getting closest to a 'jack' ball, it is designed specifically for athletes with a disability affecting locomotor function, but we open it up to anyone with any disability.

Active Disability - Zumba Dance Class 

This is an open session for anyone with disabilities to come with their carer/family members. It is run by our qualified Zumba instructors and is a fun dance session using the Zumba choreography but adapted to fit the needs of all customers regardless of any disabilities. There are also some party dances included to make the customers have fun while working out.

Active Disability -  Scolton Manor Inclusive multi-sports session

This is open to anyone with disabilities to attend with carers/family members. This is a drop-in session, there is badminton, curling, archery, table tennis, bowls and varying other sports available. This enables the participants to come and have a go, this session is not structured, and people are free to try out the sports in their own way and in a safe environment.
