World Environment Day

Small changes can make a big difference!

This World Environment Day, we’re encouraging everyone in our centres to take a few simple steps to help reduce waste and protect our environment

-Bring a reusable water bottle
-Bring your own towel
-Walk or Cycle to the Centre where possible
-Recycle your waste in the correct bins

Here are some actions we’ve taken:

Automatic & LED lighting – reduces overall energy use by ensuring lights are efficient and only on when needed.

Pool covers – retain heat when pools aren’t in use, cutting down on energy needed to reheat water.

Biomass unit (Haverfordwest) – turns agricultural waste into a renewable fuel source, reducing reliance on traditional gas.

CHP units in some sites – generate both electricity and heat from a single energy source, maximising efficiency and reducing waste.

Solar panels in some sites – harness renewable energy from the sun to power facilities and lower carbon emissions.

Salt-generated chlorine – produces chlorine on-site using salt, reducing chemical transport and improving long-term environmental impact.

Our website is green hosted, and we take steps to reduce the carbon emissions our web pages produce.

Tenby Leisure Centre have been meeting with pupils of Tenby Junior Primary School. Pupils have been visiting to learn about the new solar panels and battery storage system, which allows us to store excess energy rather than losing it back to the grid!
