The Level 3 Paediatric First Aid qualification covers a range of CPR and first aid skills specifically for children and infants (babies) – because their first aid needs differ from those of adults.
Who is this course for?
Everyone! Individuals and organisations are advised to take a Paediatrics First Aid course to provide and deliver first aid skills to children and infants (babies) within their homes or workplaces. Candidates must be a minimum of 16-years-old at the time of taking the Paediatric First Aid assessment, and no prior first aid knowledge is required.
Course Breakdown
This blended Paediatric First Aid requires a minimum of 13 hours training and requires 100% attendance.
Online Learning (not face-to-face) – 6 hours
Face-to-Face (in person) – 7 hours
Online learning MUST be successfully completed prior to joining the face-to-face element of this course. Where candidates have not successfully completed online learning, they will be turned away from the course venue.
The course content includes

- Providing first aid to an infant and a child who is;

The course comprises online work, practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as practical and multiple-choice theory assessments of CPR and first aid.
Upon qualifying, the PFA certificate is valid for 3 years.
RLSS UKs Paediatric First Aid training is CIMSPA endorsed, which means it has been quality-assured by CIMSPA. RLSS UK is an active member of the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum (FAAOF) whose remit is to collaborate on best practice and maintain quality to ensure the integrity and currency of regulated qualifications.
