Pembrokeshire Leisure Group Ex-travaganza is for everyone! You don’t need to be at a particular fitness level to take part. The sessions on offer will contain options to suit all abilities and you can do as much or as little as you like – it’s about moving together and being part of the day whilst having fun!

What does each session involve?

LES MILLS BODYPUMP HEAVY™ is tempo-based weightlifting that switches on your metabolic engine to build lean muscle like nothing else. Drawing on traditional lifting techniques, each class challenges strength, builds lean muscle, and drives measurable performance gains. It’s simple to do and the slow tempo with lots of recovery periods allows for expert coaching, so you master form and technique. 

LES MILLS SHAPES is the workout you never knew you needed. An invigorating blend of Pilates, barre, and power yoga set to modern beats. With small, controlled movements, you sculpt and strengthen all major muscle groups, improve alignment and increase flexibility. It’s a low impact but intense way to heat up your training.

LES MILLS BODYPUMP™ is the ideal workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically-backed moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! 

LES MILLS BODYATTACK™ is a high-energy fitness class with moves that cater for total beginners to total addicts. It combines athletic movements like running, lunging and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats. With energising tunes you can challenge your limits in a good way leaving you with a sense of achievement.

LES MILLS BODYBALANCE™ is a new generation yoga class that will improve your mind, your body and your life. You can expect to bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves, elements of Tai Chi and Pilates while an inspiring soundtrack plays in the background. Breathing control is a part of all the exercises, and instructors will always provide options for those just getting started. 

Zumba® is a high-energy dance-based fitness class that combines elements of salsa, samba, merengue, reggaeton, and hip-hop with cardio exercise moves. It is a fun and energetic dance workout that targets cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility. 

MX4 is a 30-minute, coach-led group workout designed around four training pillars – Cardio, Power, Strength, and Endurance. Using a circuit-style format, sessions deliver a full-body workout that’s fast, effective, and suitable for all abilities. With expert coaching, varied exercises, and a motivating atmosphere, MX4 helps you build fitness, strength, and stamina in just half an hour.

 

What equipment do I need?

Yourself, some water, and a towel is the best combo! We will provide you with all the equipment you need but as a guide check out what each sessions involves below:

- BODYPUMP/BODYPUMP HEAVY all participants will receive a bench top and 2 risers as well as a barbell, 2 clips, 2 x 5KG, 2.5KG, 1.25KG weight plates. 

- Shapes, an optional exercise mat/towel is advised for floor work. If you have your own loop/resistance band then you are welcome to bring this along. Light weights will be available if you want to increase the burn!

- BODYATTACK, an optional exercise mat/towel is advised for floor work.

- Zumba, an optional towel. 

- BODYBALANCE, we recommend bringing your own exercise/yoga mat if you have one. If not we will have some available on site for use.

- MX4, we will set up a 4 station circuit using a variety of equipment. 

*Please note that equipment will be provided for you to be able to experience the sessions in full. We will have additional weight plates, risers and exercise mats to hand, but these will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.

 

What do I wear?

Please come dressed ready for your session. We recommend sports trainers and kit for all sessions other than BODYBALANCE which can be done bare foot. If you do not have appropriate footwear, you may not be able to take part - and we don’t want that!

The event is held at Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, St Thomas' Green, Haverfordwest

Upon entering the facilities swipe your Pembrokeshire Leisure membership card on the barrier system to gain access. If you’re unsure where to find us we’ll be in the Sports Hall. Our staff will be happy to assist you. 

 

Photography

Photographs and videos will be taken at the event. These may be used for marketing future events and other products/services offered by Pembrokeshire Leisure. If you do not wish to be identified in these then please notify one of the team on the day and we will avoid capturing you in the content.

 

How long is the event? 

Doors open at 8:45AM and close at 2:30PM. 

 

Are there food/beverages available? 

Café Viva Verde will be open from 9.00am - 4.00pm providing food and beverages to purchase throughout the day.
