Reopening Frequently Asked Questions

1. When and how will you reopen?

All facilities will be reopening indoors from Monday May 3rd 2021. St.David’s Sports Hall will reopen on Tuesday May 4th 2021. This to be reviewed regularly and procedures changed to fall in line with changes in Government Guidance. 

2. What times will you be open? 

Please check our App for timetables and our web page for our centre opening times

Opening hours on Bank Holiday Monday May 3rd 2021 are 0800-1500. 

3. How will you communicate what is happening?

Via our website and social media platforms.  We may also send information to members by E-mail.

4. What extra cleaning measures are you taking?

The safety of our staff and customers is paramount; to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness we have increased our cleaning schedule throughout the centres to include more regular sanitisation of fitness suites and studios. All fitness suite equipment and studio equipment will be cleaned more regularly with users cleaning equipment before and after each use. Staff will make regular checks to ensure consistently that high standards are maintained. We reserve the right to cordon off areas during the day to allow additional cleaning to take place. 

5. Are there sanitising stations?

Yes, customers will be asked to use hand sanitiser before entering the building, we ask that users wash their hands regularly and use hand sanitiser which is available throughout the centre.

6. Can I check in at your facilities using the COVID-19 App?

Yes, each area of the centre has a unique QR code displayed to enable you to check in, please ensure you scan the code every time you attend an activity. You will also need to check in via the main reception to log your attendance for your activity. 

7. What should I do if a member of my household or I are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms?

If you or a family member exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, please do not visit our centres and follow the relevant guidance. 

8. Will there be toilet and changing facilities?

Initially only toilet facilities will be available, this will be reviewed on an on-going basis but please check centre specific details on all changing facilities and access along with family changing facilities. 

9. Will I be able to access drinking water?

Initially water fountains will not be available so please bring sufficient water for your activity. 

10. Do I need to wear a face mask?

Yes, in Wales wearing face masks in indoor public spaces is mandatory, if you are exempt please ensure you speak with a member of staff prior to your visit. 

When you arrive at the leisure centre you will need to wear a face mask in all public areas, this will include:

•             Reception area

•             All corridors and spectating areas 

•             Toilet and all changing facilities

You will not be required to wear a face mask while you are participating in your chosen activity and a safe distance must be maintained at all times throughout your visit.

11. How do I book?

All activities need to be pre-booked and paid, this can be done up to 7 days in advance, you can Book on our website, through our app or by phoning your local Centre

12. Will all class equipment be supplied? 

You will need to bring your own exercise mat, all other equipment will be available and we ask that you clean equipment before and after use with the sanitising products provided. You are welcome to bring along your own equipment such as kettlebells or hula-hoops if you would prefer. 

13. How will fitness suite sessions work?

A fitness suite session will need to be pre-booked and paid, you are encouraged to enter the building no earlier than 5 minutes before your session starts. The fitness suite is set up to allow for social distancing and sanitiser supplied for cleaning down equipment before and after each use. We ask that whilst you are in the fitness suite you maintain safe social distancing.

*Please note that in sites offering two fitness suite areas please check on booking requirements as they may differ*

14. What time is last entry for pre booked activities?

For group exercise classes please ensure you are in the allocated area for your class in time for the class to start at the allocated start time, no late entries will be permitted. 

There is no last entry for fitness suite and swimming pool sessions however, you must finish the session at the allocated finish time. 

15. How will group exercise classes work?

All group exercise classes will be pre-booked and paid and we encourage your attendance to be no more than 10 minutes prior to the class start time. 

Our group exercise classes will have reduced capacity and provision to allow for social distancing and thorough cleaning between sessions and are planned for return from indoors from Monday May 17th 2021. 

All equipment except exercise mats are available, we ask that you use the sanitiser provided to clean equipment before and after use. We ask that whilst you participate in the class you maintain safe social distancing.

If any class needs to be cancelled (in the event of severe weather conditions for outdoor group exercise classes for example) we will aim to cancel within 4 hours of the class start time. 

16. How will the swimming pool operate?

You will need to attend swim ready (wearing your costume under your clothes). You will change on poolside and your clothes will remain on poolside in an allocated space. At the end of your session you will need to dry and change and depending on the site you use this will either be on poolside (swimming costumes to remain on) or in an allocated changing space. Shower facilities will not be available.

When swimming please select the appropriate lane and maintain a respectful distance from other swimmers and please follow any instructions given by staff. 

Equipment will not be available for use. 

There will be hand sanitiser available throughout the centre for your use. 

17. What is happening with children’s swimming lessons?

Swimming lessons are being planned to return, more information to follow in due course.

18. What will happen with the online classes? 

Our Digital Hub provision which includes our live, anytime and wellness classes will continue to be free of charge for all users until May 31st 2021. From June 1st 2021 our Digital Hub will be included in our live memberships. 

19.  I signed up to a Be-Active membership before lockdown and do not have a standard membership what happens with this?

You will be able to use the facilities free of charge until May 31st 2021, you will then need to choose one of our standard memberships to convert to that will be charged at introductory rates per month from June 1st 2021 until August 31st 2021. From September 1st 2021 onwards our new 2021/2022 membership prices and membership entitlements will be instated. 

20.I bought a one-month membership just before lockdown what happens with this?

When you are ready to return e-mail [javascript protected email address] a member of staff will ensure that the membership is extended to allow for the closure period. 

Our BeActive memberships are no longer be available. 

21. I would normally have a Passport to Leisure membership how can I arrange this?

If you have a frozen current direct debit Passport to Leisure membership this will resume from June 1st 2021. 

Before you can purchase a new Passport to Leisure membership, your account would need to have Passport Eligibility applied to it. To do this we would need to see proof of benefits, please e-mail to [javascript protected email address]. Once processed, a member of staff will contact you to let you know.  When eligibility is applied, you will be able to purchase a Passport to Leisure membership or take advantage of discounted “Pay and Play” rates.

22. Will annual swim tickets still be available?

Yes, Annual swim tickets are still available for those eligible. 

23. I bought an annual swim ticket before lockdown what happens with this?

Please e-mail [javascript protected email address] and a member of staff will ensure that the swim ticket is extended to allow for the closure period. 

24. When will the sauna and steam room open?

Currently there is no date set to re-open health suites, this will continue to be reviewed and we will keep you informed.

25. I am an unpaid carer; previously I had a free 6-month carer membership are these still available?

Yes, we are working with Social Care who have funded a limited amount of 6-month passes.  To prove eligibility you would need to scan or send a photograph of your “Carers recognition card” to [javascript protected email address]
